A short story.

I want to tell you a short story very quickly, get it. There were two young men and it was a beautiful spring afternoon, 25 years ago. They were both graduating from the same college. Now the two men were very much alike, they were both better than average students, they were both likeable, they had lots of friends, and they both had big hopes and dreams for the future.

Now 25 years later their returning to the college for their 25th anniversary, and their still very much alike. Their both happily married they both had 3 children, and they’ed both actually gone to work for the same company, after they graduated. And amazingly enough they were still at the same company. But there was one big difference, one of them was the manager of a small department at the company. And the other one was the President.

Have you ever wondered what makes those differences in people’s lives? What are the key decision points that takes them down different paths? This was a story written by- Martin Conroy, and the conclusion was education and training is the difference.

You always have choices.

This is an excerpt from a story titled “Life is hard” by Dr. Moses, that I wanted to share with you today titled “You always have choices”.
No matter what situation you are in, you have a choice. No matter how bad things are, you have a choice. No matter what you think you can or cannot do, you have a choice.
Now it may not be an easy choice, by any means. It may be a very difficult choice and t…he road you decide to take may be a tough one. It may push you way out of your comfort zone. It may mean that in the initial period your life may get even harder than it already is. But it is a choice nonetheless.
A lot of times you will actually find that the choices are not as hard as you thought they were. You may just have shut off your mind from seeing those choices and possibilities because you thought you had no choice. Once you become open to the idea that you are responsible for your life and that you have choices, you will find that you are no longer stuck just because life is hard.

Is marketing on YouTube something you should do?

Is marketing on YouTube something you should do?

Well think about this on Wednesday YouTube just past a major milestone, it announced that it now has over one billion unique viewers on its site every month.

Can you really understand the possibilities involved with numbers like that?

I want to give you a few pointers that will increase your viewership on this powerful site.

1. Be consistent in your branding image when setting up your channel.

2. Use videos to create added value for your customers.

3. Use the YouTube annotation feature to add calls to action in your video.

3 Tips that help you market with Social Media.

3 Tips that help you market with Social Media.

1. Concentrate your initial efforts on established, trusted platforms that will still exist by the time you get the hang of them.

2. One of biggest social media mistakes a small business owner can make is to separate the physical business from its digital presence.

3. To be effective, social media must be used frequently, but not overbearingly.

A couple of bonus facts.

Did you know that the most active users are on Facebook between 1:00pm and 4:00pm on Weekdays. Peak traffic is on Wednesdays at 3:00pm.

Simply asking readers to “share” or “like” a post actually works, and results in increased interaction with followers.

5 Things to consider as you’re growing your Affiliate business.

5 Things to consider as you’re growing your Affiliate business.
1. The greatest benefit of affiliate programs is that when you are just starting out in your own online business you don’t have to worry about creating your own product or service. You just promote someone else’s and get a share of the revenue pie for your efforts.
2. You’re working on commission. You will NEVER earn by way of affiliate program commissions as much as you can earn by way of profits from producing and selling your own product/service.
3. Look for a company that’s been around for a while and that’s reputable and stable (both financially and in its management). Any reputable company will have full contact details readily available so do your research.
4. Watch out for exclusivity clauses and other restraints. Some affiliate agreements will require that you not promote competing businesses’ products and services. This is not to say you should avoid such agreements. As a general rule, it is your interests not to promote competing programs anyway. Just be aware of what the agreement says on the subject to avoid getting yourself into hot water.
5.Finally, take a look at what support the business offers its affiliates to make sales. Do they provide resources such as sample ads, banners, logos and the like? Do they provide useful advice about maximizing your sales? A good affiliate program provides affiliates with a LOT of support in these areas.        Advise from my friend…
