1. Didn’t start soon enough-excuses like, I was afraid of how I looked to people. I was afraid I didn’t have enough money. I was afraid people wouldn’t understand. I was afraid no one would like my work.
2. Wasn’t persistent enough- If you start 4 times and fail 4 times, start again. Simply pay attention to what you’ve learned along the way and work smarter.
3. Wasting too much time in the wrong places- don’t put too much stock in the idea that you never know where you can find a lead or who knows who, don’t spread yourself too thin by going to every networking opportunity you can. Learn to focus with depth and specificity.
